How to get you started with engaging a Live-in Caregiver

1) Step one

Call us at +65 64932585 or drop us an email at info@globalcaregiver.sg. Our Caregiver Consultant will contact you. We will meet with you and your family and jointly determine the scope of care by conducting an in-depth assessment of your (or your loved one’s) lifestyle and medical conditions, then evaluate the kind of assistance that is needed. During the meeting, we explain fully the services available, answer any additional questions you may have, and help with the important care decisions faced by a family with a loved one in need

2) Step Two

Find and Choose your Match We will share suitable caregivers’ profiles with you and arrange video interviews for you. Upon confirmation, we will process and proceed to bring your carer to your doorstep in 2 weeks.

3) Step Three

Take over your care The Live in Caregiver will move in and start taking care of the patient. We will provide initial training, monitor and guidance to your new caregiver in the first few weeks. We are always a phone call away.


How to get Financial Aid for employing a Caregiver

We will provide consultation and advice on the eligibility and application of the various Government Financial aids:

(1) Foreign Domestic Worker Grant The FDW Grant by Agency of Integrated Care (AIC) is a monthly grant of $120 to support families who need to hire a foreign domestic worker to care for the frail elderly and persons with at least moderate disability and who meet certain Criteria (please refer to the AIC website or Singapore Silver pages at http://www.silverpages.sg/dfwg

(3) Pioneer Generation Disability Assistance Scheme The Pioneer Generation Disability Assistance Scheme (PioneerDAS) is part of the Pioneer Generation Package, which honours what Singapore's Pioneers have done for the country. Under this scheme, Pioneers who have disabilities can receive $100 a month, which they can use for expenses.

(4) Eldershield ElderShield is an affordable severe disability insurance scheme which provides basic financial protection to those who need long-term care, especially during old age. It provides a monthly cash payout to help pay the out-of-pocket expenses for the care of a severely-disabled person for a certain duration. For ElderShield purposes, “severely disabled” means unable to do at least 3 of these 6 activities of daily living – washing, dressing, feeding, toileting, mobility, and transferring.

There are currently 2 ElderShield schemes: ElderShield300 and ElderShield400. ElderShield300 was first launched in September 2002 and offers a payout of $300 per month for a maximum of 60 months. ElderShield400 came about after the ElderShield reform in 2007 and offers an improved coverage with payout of $400 per month for a maximum of 72 months. Singapore Citizens and PRs who join ElderShield after September 2007 will be on the ElderShield400 scheme (please refer to the MOH website for more details).
